Force Sensors Workshop

Workshop

Organisation

This workshop, entitled "Importance of accurate force sensors into the biomechanical computations" is organised by Sensix.

Presenters

This symposium will be led by Dr Inès Benkhémis - Sensix, France and Dr Mathieu Boucher - Sensix, France.

Summary

This workshop is twofold:
- Measurement precision from the force-torque sensors;
- Consequences of measurement uncertainty in the accuracy of biomechanical computations.

The first part of this workshop will be focused on the interpretation of technical specifications given in sensor data sheet and the evolution of precision depending on environmental conditions. We will try to answer the question: “How can I optimize my measuring chain?”

The second part will describe the effect of uncertainty measurements on biomechanical computations through the example of cycling. From pedal sensor measurements, we will, together, calculate the uncertainty propagation on the cyclist joint efforts.
